Blend
Marsanne (100%)
Season
The 2019 growing season was relatively warm, with dry weather through December/January. Care was taken in the warm conditions to harvest relatively early to retain aromatics and preserve natural grape acid.
Viticulture
A range of clones of Marsanne are grown east of Murrumbateman (shaley red loam).
Winemaking
The fruit was whole bunch pressed and run to a mix of new and seasoned Allier and Vosges oak, and stainless steel for fermentation. Each parcel underwent a full malolactic fermentation and was aged on lees before blending and bottling in February 2019.
Taste
The wine is fresh on the nose with aromas of white flowers, flint and a hint of exotic spice. The palate is focussed, mouth-filling and long. Taut and gently fragrant now, the wine will steadily take on complexity and girth with age.
